Wellbeing

Wellbeing at Blagdon

Wellbeing is very important for every one of us. Here at Blagdon we care about our children, their families and our staff by making sure it is a high priority for us, particularly in difficult and challenging times. We are always happy to talk to anyone who needs support in this or are concerned about someone else. Where children are struggling with transitions or other aspects of their school or home life, we can be on hand to support.

Our PSHE lessons are based on the Jigsaw scheme of work and allow us to cover many topics, including wellbeing and keeping ourselves safe.

Our school Mental Health First Aiders are Mrs Campbell and Mrs Burnell and you can arrange to meet them or speak to them on the phone for a chat if you have concerns about the wellbeing of your child or any other child. They are also our Designated Safeguarding Leads. Click here for Safeguarding

Wellbeing Post Covid19

As a school, we worked on a recovery curriculum, giving time for wellbeing activities and ensuring that the children ave time to think and talk about their recent experiences as we returned from lockdowns. This was particularly important since many children have been away from school for a number of months during Lockdown. Many families have been impacted and continue to be impacted by the wider effects of the pandemic and we are keen to support the families in our school and beyond. To support this, all of our staff have had training in supporting children returning to school with Mental Health & Resilience and how to support children who may have suffered from Bereavement or Loss.
