Homework and Reading
Homework and reading are an important part of the learning of our children and give the opportunity to practise new and developing skills or reinforce learning as well as give time for research and exploration.
We encourage all of our children to read 5 times a week, every week as this is a good way to ensure they are able to build their skills and confidence as well as develop an enjoyment of reading. Children who manage to read regularly and have their book signed by an adult are rewarded for their effort.
Much of our homework is now set via Teams. This allows our children to access it from anywhere and, in many cases, submit it online for marking and checking. The types of task are variable and may include research, writing, presenting information, quizzes, problem-solving and much more. Phonics and spelling are also sent home each week at an appropriate level for the children.
